Wim Biewenga about Haver zichten
Wim Biewenga: Haver zichten means mowing the oats. A zicht is an old tool for mowing (‘sweeping’) grain by hand.
I worked on old paper from the 1930s working diaries of my father, Tjasse Willem Biewenga, a farmer in the Hoogeland region (Groningen).
