In 2020, Valère Wittevrongel expanded his repertoire with geometric abstract works in dark colors, as before, but with brighter, more colorful accents, alongside his very dark Shadow sides paintings. The underlying color is always red. This red is important. Underneath the dark layer of paint, the red is still present and influences the perception of the bright colors next to it. In addition, the title of this series, Rhytmics, refers to music, particularly percussion. The works visualize the rhythm in composition, form, and color.
