Tineke Porck, Lining red

Tineke Porck, Lining red is a work in the tradition of constructivism and concrete art. This geometrically abstract art, developed a hundred years ago by Mondrian and Van Doesburg, was revived around 1960 by young artists such as Bob Bonies, Ad Dekkers and Jan Schoonhoven. Among the constructivists of both generations you will find the hardliners, who work in a cool and businesslike manner (grids, systems of proportions), and the flexible, who seek a balance between calculation and intuition.

Tineke Porck’s formal language is based on the constructive elements of line, point and plane. Yet she deliberately leaves room in her working method for intuition and a personal touch.
