Miranda Rikken about her residency
From 24 January to 18 February 2022, Jeanne Janssen and Miranda Rikken worked in residency at Popop in the old tax office in Nijmegen. Before that, they did not know each other. The presentation Dreamcatchers in traffic was on view from February 18 to 27.

Miranda Rikken about the meaning of Dreamcatchers in traffic on the development of her art
“My work is clearly evolving past this ‘bag thing’ into a more heartfelt, lyrical, romantic art. The photo of the bench that wants to hug you with the illusion of nature (the pond with swans) is a clear example of this. I think it has something to do with the zeitgeist.”
“Both Jeanne and I took the opportunity to make works that were bigger and in a way more experimental. Looking back on it now, I think of it as an oasis of imagination, at a busy intersection in Nijmegen.”
