Pouring paint into image. René Korten exploits chance, letting paint flow and collide and drift together, growing and shifting into eruptions of color. He observes carefully and then adds to these dynamic patches a constructed element, sometimes borrowed from the environment in which he works.
Nature and culture, beauty, chaos and control: opposites aptly come together in a new landscape, or rather organism, of paint.

Each painting reflects the world and is a world within itself.

In this multiple, edition of 7, the artist experimented with a digital photograph that he edited in the computer, then printed and painted a strip of yellow acrylic over it in the same technique he uses in his paintings.
