Ilse Brul tells about her paintings: “Nature gives me the opportunity to freely associate and let paintings arise. Basic in this is our connection with everything around us, symbolic, abstract, possibly narrative. In these special series, both the visible nature, mainly the Wadden, and the invisible energy behind it are shown.

All panels are painted in egg tempera, unique, numbered and infinite.
I use pigments to make the tempera, which, once it is made into paint, is the most beautiful paint that has existed for centuries.”
